| VABC's fourth annual fundraising event, Sounding Off For A Cure, was held on Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Funds raised from the event will go toward research to find a cure for brain cancer. The event honored Dr. Lisa DeAngelis (Co-Executive Director of the Brain Tumor Center and Chairman, Department of Neurology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center) with the Gary Lichtenstein Humanitarian Award and Al Musella (President, Musella Foundation For Brain Tumor Research & Information) with the Voices Award for their dedication and charitable giving to brain cancer research and support. Awards were presented by Board Member and brain cancer survivor Mike Burkhardt.
