Brain Cancer Research Grant Guidelines and Application

BACKGROUND:
Voices Against Brain Cancer (VABC) was started in memory of Gary Lichtenstein, who lost his valiant battle with brain cancer on October 1, 2003. Gary was 24 years old at the time and died less than seven months after his diagnosis. The mission of VABC is to find a cure for brain cancer by advancing scientific research, increasing awareness within the medical community and supporting patients, families and caregivers afflicted with this devastating disease.

EVALUATION CRITERIA:
The goal of VABC's granting program is to support both research and non-research programs that advance VABC's mission. At this time, there is no limit on the number of grants that may be awarded to a single applicant or institution. However, VABC may subsequently decide to limit the number of grants it may award to a single applicant or institution, or not to award any grants at all. Research grant applicants should expect that grant applications will be subject to a rigorous peer review by our Medical Advisory Board and other experts in the field. Research grant awards are dependent upon approval from the researcher’s Institutional Review Board in the case of human studies and the Institute of Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) for animal studies.
