Run for Rob
Held on October 28, 2012, the 2nd Annual Run for Rob was an incredible success. Expanding on this new tradition in memory of Rob Bernstein and in support of so many families who have lost or are supporting loved ones afflicted with brain cancer, this year’s race raised nearly $80,000 with well over 300 participants. Run for Sally
Organized by Captain Kurt “Droid” Helfrich, the Run for Sally was held on December 1, 2012, in support of Kurt’s mother-in-law, who was diagnosed with stage four glioblastoma in October 2011. To learn more about the Run for Sally, visit www.voicesinmotion.org/runforsally.
Join The Voices New York
The 2012 Join The Voices! New York Run/Walk was definitely bigger and better than ever! Held in Manhattan’s Central Park, JTV New York raised an incredible $625,000, and involved more than 8,000 of VABC’s closest family and friends. This year’s event featured a 5-mile run, scenic walk, kids’ races, plus a festival with speed pitch, Wii station, photobooth, VABC info tent, and award ceremony for top teams and race winners. Hoops with the Hansbroughs
Our first-ever event in Indianapolis, Hoops with the Hansbroughs was held on March 14 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, the home of the Indiana Pacers. Special guests Tyler and Ben Hansbrough hosted the event in support of brain cancer research and their older brother, Greg, who is a brain cancer survivor. Join The Voices! Chicago
May 5 marked the first annual Join The Voices! Chicago Run/Walk, held in beautiful Lincoln Park. VABC has been dreaming of expanding to the Chicago area for many years, particularly because this was the city where Gary lived just before he died. Without a doubt, Chicago did not disappoint; a crowd of over 1,000 gathered at this incredible inaugural event, raising over $160,000 in support of VABC. To learn more about Join The Voices!
