Anders Cohen is an assistant professor of neurosurgery at Weill Cornell University and the chief of neurosurgery at the Brooklyn Hospital Center, Downtown Brooklyn. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery for the brain and spine. Dr. Cohen also completed a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery. He has treated hundreds of patients, both adult and pediatric, who have been diagnosed with brain and / or spinal cancer. Dr. Cohen helped care for Gary Lichtenstein during his hospitalization at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 2003. He has maintained a close relationship with the Lichtenstein family and is honored to be involved with VABC and its excellent achievements.

He liked Dr. Cohen’s scrub hat, so Dr. Cohen surprised him with one and Matthew’s mom took the picture. Dr. Cohen keeps the picture on his desk at work.
